Yesterday was a thrilling achievement in getting all of my necessaries done AND getting a couple of hours of painting done. TODAY was not. Cassandra and I woke early to head to our Air Conditioning mechanic in Round Rock. A belt had broke and the Austin heat was becoming a bit much. My brown bomber Subaru has been complaining alot itself lately, so over the weekend, I had performed a radiator flush in hopes of discovering the leak or blockage. Of course I waited until the morning to replug the dripping beast. I broke the draincock. SO. . .
I drove Cassandra to work, headed back, took out the entire radiator, drove updown then downtown to find a suitable repair venue, picked up an AC belt on the way home and proceeded to put it on myself. Here comes the message of today's story. . . I'm an artist not a mechanic yet I will always be a mechanic as long as I am an artist driving artist cars.
Why are there always bolts that won't budge?
Who's hands were meant to fit into those tiny spaces and actually do something?
What black hole do the dropped screws fall into?
Why isn't the mosquito repellant working?
Now closing in on 7:00, I'm done. Cassandra's car is blowing fresh, cool air. My beast desires a new/reconditioned radiator for $80. Of course a whole day/night will have gone by since taking it apart. I did THINK of making a diagram.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow. . . .
