I am currently seeking new artists for developement and representation. I am located in Jackson,MS and have gallery contacts all over the southeastern US, as well as OK and the ArkLaTex. I also have contacts in art publishing, studios, and ateliers. I too am an artist. I represent myself and a few other artists. I know how difficult it can be to get your "foot in the door". I am looking to expand my portfolio of artists for a more diverse offering to my clients. I have 20 years in the art industry in retail, wholesale and management. I have been a gallery manager so I know the eccentricities and nuances and pitfalls of the business. I started doing this because I discovered as a gallery manager, most artists have no idea of how to go about marketing their work. I know from personal experience, they certainly don't teach this skill in art school. I feel I offer a unique perspective with my having been on both sides of the table, as both buyer and seller. My success has been measured but I am ready to expand. Commissions will be based on my opinion as to your marketability. Media, subject matter, and ideology, while important, are not as significant as marketability. I would eventually like to publish limited edition prints as well. The art market is changing.
