I have a print by GEORGES BRAQUE, titled STILL LIFE,it is labeled on the back matting''MUSEUM SERIES''STILL LIFE #290,MODERN CLASSICS INC.NEW YORK,NEW YORK 10003.This company is no longer in business.I have done a lot of research on BRAQUE.I am pretty sure this is an original. The print needs authentication. For instance, this print is signed in the plate, there are no printer or publisher chop or stamp!Although there is a thumb and palm print in the unprinted margin on the left side of the print(non-accidental).Also there are two back mattings, one black, one white. The labeling is on the outside black one. Now,on the inside white one there are two full hand prints(non-accidental).Braque was an honest, but also suspicious man.Does anyone know the special, discrete and personal things that he did consistently to foil a forger, and that would serve to authenticate his prints!(got it at a yard sale, ain't that a hoot)
