I am also an artist in different mediums and also find it hard to get my work noticed.
I agree with your idea and have a few suggestions too:
-maybe the artists listing their work can donate a few persent of their sales price to a web manager and advertizing costs.
- they can also have a representative to take their works around the USA and globally (eventually) and pay him a set fee for say three pieces each at a time. Therewith creating a few jobs along the line for people with a passion for art.
