jew boy iconoclastic bozo i never felt bad about the pledge of allegiance the lord's prayer and all the morning stuff in schools.....the point is to mellow the kids out alittle so they can get to work,,,,,,.Our interpritations of america's history vary with our sources......I believe the pilgrims were leaving home to creat a place where they could practice thier splintered beliefs in peace.Yes the first settlers were mostly followers of Christ,but they perhaps needed some freedom from the strict rules of thier homeland.The settlers brought many forms of religon with them and created a relgius freedom here,there were the witch hunts and persecrution of new ideas and offshoots of paganism etc.....but things seemed to melt pretty well.........Now the terms of Christianianity include more variations than most profit based religons......Uniterian/univeralists Quakers, all the way to Nazi
Low riders now that is freedom........This country has a very checkered past present and middle........it is an experiment of freedoms capitalistic by nature democratic by nature and all of these freedoms work really well for the most part.........everyone wants answers and in america still we are lucky enough to seek them out.
