Revolutionary Art is Ours
At a time when our freedoms of speech are being restricted and corporate control of expression abounds, use your voice and celebrate art that is free for anyone to use: Create an antiwar piece and then put it in the public domain, free for anyone to use for any purpose. Take art back from corporate control, and give it to the people.
Artists will make an antiwar piece -- painting, sculpture, video, poetry, anything -- that will be on exhibit for a month at Artists' Television Access in San Francisco, culminating in an event on June 20, 2003 where all visual pieces will be documented [digitally scanned, photographed] and then set free. The celebration will include revolutionary music, video, poetry, and performances by local artists who refuse to shut up. Audience members will put their names in a drawing and take home the originals. Visual and text-based work will then be downloadable online for anyone to use.
Submissions are encouraged from people of all backgrounds, locations, and art levels.
