Hello... I had a thought today and was wondering how to go about this: how to find art philanthropists to purchase (my) paintings as donation to organizations. Here is my personal reason: way back in New Orleans I was not only a struggling artist, but a single mother with a newborn to care for. I was (silly me) living with a drunken Irish boor who drank all money given to me for the care of my baby. Anyway, depressing story there, but I called the Jewish Family Services (it helped that I was Jewish, but I don't think it was necessary) and they paid all of the utility bills that were going to be turned off. I was in a desperate situation, and they were there. When I returned to L.A. to be with my family for care of my little one, I went to another Jewish organization for single mom support group. They were very cool. Now my son goes to a Jewish pre-school. They need funding funding funding. I went to school there as a child, as did my mother. Long winded here... but my point is: How to find those people who will purchase my art so that the funds will be donated to such causes? I want to give back what I was given... because now I am doing great, my son is happy, and I am married to a wonderful man... I can now offer back to those who helped me. Anyone?
