I have the book "John Kelly" c1984. Autographed: "To Carolyn - please enjoy this it is my pleasure knowing you your good friend John Kelly 11/30/84. That was signed at a show in Laguna Beach. A friend who was with me laughed that I was surely a good friend having bought all that I have.
I also have an original pencil drawing "Wang Pu" which was the basis for the "Wang Pu River" in his China Suite.
Original lithographs: "Schooner Race" 119/225, "Tug" 23/350, Homeward Bound 71/175.
Photographic Reproductions; 4 from Hong Kong harbor set: "Nocturne" A/P, Star Ferry" A/P, "China Tanker" 364/500, "Port of Trade" XV/CC.
Also have 4 smaller photographic reproductions: "The Sentinel" A/P, "Statue of Liberty" A/P, "Ketch" A/P, and "The Train" A/P (different train than in China Suite). All above are museum quality framed.
How I got hooked: There was a painting of navy ships in the IBM offices in San Diego that attracted me. Then I went to a local Lion's Club auction and found the 4 Hong Kong paintings very attractive. Bought two. Then I found out that the paintings at the auction were by the same artist as the painting in the IBM building. More auctions and shows. I still love them.
Wonder what happened to John Kelly and if he has done anything lately.
