I recently just learned some info on the Barrymore etchings, thought I would pass along to anyone interested in the possible value.
Back in 1984, give or take a year, my mother give me 4 silver & copper colorized foil etching by Barrymore. Shortly thereafter I moved and packed them away, totally forgetting them until recently. This past week I was visiting with her and asked her where she had purchased them. This is what I was told:
Back in 1973 or 1975 my father owned a plastics company and he purchased Collector's Portfolio for each of his employees as gifts to them for Xmas that particular year. The Portfolio came in two choices the silver & copper or gold foil and each was purchased for $150.
Now I'm not sure if this info is totally correct, being that it was so many years ago that they were purchased, but seeing as it seems theres not much info available on his works, figured I'd pass it along. Hope it helps anyone looking for additional info into these lovely works.
Oh, additional FYI, the Silver etchings I have are titled:
Quiet Waters, Harbor Shelter, Shoreside Farms, Little Boatyard Venice.
The Gold etchings, of which she gave me two portfolios, are titled:
Point Mugu, Purdy's Basin, Point Pleasant, and San Pedro
