So as an artist, how important is it to get into all of these competitions and gallery shows? There are listings everywhere.
The entry fees are outrageous now and one could go broke entering them! Even if you only enter the ones that are specialized to your artwork.
So would it be better to just try to get into a gallery show myself or with a group and forget about these "competitions?"
How much pull is a competition going to be on a resume...especially if you only participated and did not win?
Should I bother? Or maybe I should rent gallery space, have a competition of my own and charge $30-$40 per entry.....that's an idea.....
