The writing on the piece is in the same hand as Joseph Benwell, but instead of signing J. B Clark it is signed J. Clark. I have only been able to unearth a very few examples of his work. It is very good. He was a 19th centuary Artist who must have been otherwise employed so as to produce so few works of art.
