Hello, If you were to do a study on subjects, and the memory from them had stayed in your mind, but there was no photo to be found to copy from, yes, that would be fine.
However, select few artists will do that, and do not understand the complications on copying from a magazine or such.
I constantly see it, even at exhibits, worst part is that the artist has gone to all the trouble of paying to get into the show, frames,etc.,and they do not even know that a juror has excluded them from the show because they were caught. The artist is generally never told, as most exhibition organizers do not have the time to get into it with the artist. I have had to exclude work, and have told the artist why, and ofcourse they are crushed, all that work, and effort, for nothing. I suppose I am just trying to warn the rest, but you sound like you have it all sorted out.
