Luigi Rossini was born in Ravenna Italy 1790, d. Rome 1857. He was an architect, painter and engraver specializing in archtectectural renderings. He studied in Bologna at the Academy underAntonio Giuseppe Basoli. He worked with Canova. If you have an original engraving, it is of some value. Take it to your local museum to have it looked at. They cannot authenticate it or put a value on it, that is considered unethical but they can tell you more about the quality, age and possibly other circumstances regarding your Rossini prints. Also, by comparing the size of your prints to the known plate sizes, it will add to your suspicions that you have original work.
