As a French collector with a keen eye for 19th and modern European drawings and paintings, I would like to establish a loose association with a similar American collector /dealer for exchange of knowledge and services.
With the development of the web, it is easy to browse on French auction houses and find nice items at interesting prices. I can help with inspection, phone or direct bidding, collect and ship at best prices, or use my introduction with French dealers to get reduction in prices.
I would like reciprocity on the American market where there are often good bargains, but enormous difficulties after bidding for a foreign buyer to get the item at reasonable cost. Some auction rooms don’t even consider shipping abroad. I have used this method for now three years and found it very convenient. I unfortunately lost recently my American contact. (serious illness).
