I also did not say I tried to stare people down with a "poker" face. Though you may find it difficult to consider that there are many people that play chess as well as you, I think you you overestimate your successes and underestimate the capabilities of others(compared to your skills). I was an ametuer,but when I used to play a lot, I had more than a 0.03% chance of winning. I surprisingly managed to win most of the games I played. But since I have never competed on the same scale that you have, it does not necessarily mean that I was that poor of a player. I rarely boast about anything I do, because there is always someone better.
