I got into an argument with my supervisor because he went through my notebook and altered my results(ILLEGAL AND HIGHLY UNETHICAL ESPECIALLY IN NARCOTICS.)well, he had another technician alter the data and had someone else sign off on it so the product would pass specs and we could ship it. When I went over his head and forced him to sign off on it, he told me to start looking for another job. He tried making my life a living hell for a while, but eventually fired me for not charging the company enough money on overtime. He said I worked 3 or 4 hours overtime and didn't charge for it. They did reimburse me though. He was trying to cover up a lot of data that was bad. I warned all of the supervisors that they had a problem with their assay results 1.5 years before we started getting into serious problems. When I got fired, they had 300 samples failing assays. Some people still call me occasionally, and I do help them once in a while, but I remind them I no longer work for Tyco. One consololation is that almost everyone (except for two people, who are now looking for jobs)who had somrthing to do with getting me fired are demoted or gone. Nothihng like a fresh start!! Frankly, I was afraid that we would be shut down. or even worse, jail. In Narcotics, you are audited by the D.E.A.,F.D.A,E.P.A. and customers. I disagreed with what he was doing and how he was doing it. He said,"I can't sign off on these documents because I Don't know what I am signing off on.My response"If you don't know enough to sign off on them you don't know enough to override my results." All my other supervisors signed off on decisions I disagreed with." At least I get to claim unemployment. I am glad I don't work there anymore because I think the last two years are going to catch up with them and I didn't want to be there when it happened.we had two recalls in one year and I was afraid of what was going to happen next.I have been trying to stay in art, but I'm not selling, so I guess I will have to just try to go back into chemistry for a while and try to keep working in the arts. Oh well.
Sincerely,
sgalli
