And what they said was terrorism does work. The elections were going the other way, but after the bombings in Madrid, the tide turned to the side that was more passive rather than hardnosed. The French learned the hard way that when you bend over once, you will get it over and over. I say, make it a fight. Nobody has the answers to this seemingly organized global terrorism problem we have been plagued with for the past 25 years or so. One thing is for sure however, we should not send the message that our politics may be changed by the act of terror. Because of what happened in Spain... you can expect terror attacks here in the U.S. and in U.K. prior to their elections as well, because the terrorists have to at least think, why not give it a shot and see. I don't pretend to have the answers to this, but, I feel one thing is certain, we cannot be lax in our efforts and we cannot give them the idea that they have the power to determine our collective pollitical thinking.
