LOPATKIN, ALEKSANDR ANDREEVICH (1922-1997)
There are people with a sense of the superior hearing. Just like there are people with a superior sense of colors. Artist A.A. Lopatkin is a part of these lucky ones.
His road to art wasn’t an easy one. The school of photo processing, where A.A. Lopatkin attended was in fact supposed to void out the importance of light and color and its meaning, which is so vital for an Artist. But nature granted A.A. Lopatkin such a strong bond with Art that that even the school of photo processing couldn’t take that away. A positive aspect of Lopatkin’s Art journey was a particular teacher, P.U. Kiselus, in the class of drawing. A.A. Lopatkin remembers this teacher with a sense of gratitude for taking the students to the Tretyakov’s Gallery and the Museum of New International Art and Culture where the introduction to new masterpiece artists really evolved Lopatkin’s sense of style.
After graduating from the school of Photo Processing Lopatkin begins to independently exercise his art and within a year signs himself for the school of VTsSPS. He also begins to be a part of exhibitions.
In 1941, the start of WWII Lopatkin begins to work in a factory and then goes to the war front. After the war he goes back to studies at Moscow’s Governmental Art University of Surikov’s. He learns from professors that are masters of fine art, who could really offer a lot to their students. These professors/artist were: V.V. Pochitalova, V.F Favorskoi, I.I. Chekmazova and so on.
Lopatkin was a part of many exhibitions and his paintings always portrayed a realistic and magnificent view of nature.
Lopatkin only painted realistic views, not an imaginative. Mostly all of Lopatkin’s works are finished because of his real subjects. Any simple subject or motive that maybe simple and useless to anybody else is exciting and spectacular for Lopatkin. Lopatkin’s paintings differentiate from others by a status of Fine Art, organization of color, and oneness of subject matter.
Lopatkin, A.A. worked until his last day to bring to the viewer the captured images of amazement of a sunny day, the florescent essence of autumn’s air, and the warm marine air.
The result of his constant pressured work was his movement of his hand strokes was always a rare and differentiating factor in his works of art.

1940-Moscow City’s Exhibition of People’s Art.
01/23/1954-First exhibition of drawing by New Artists of Moscow.
02/15/1956-The Second Exhibition of the drawing by New Artist of Moscow.
10/27/1959-Exhibition of Artworks by New Artists with a subject matter of railroad transportation. Paintings included: “Port” (1957), “Depo” (1959), “After the rain” (1959), “On the railroad” (1959), “Spring” (1959).
1965-Lopatkin received an honorary prize for the painting “Ytro Tselinyu”
1967-Lopatkin received an honorary price for taking part in the Exhibition “The Artists of Moscow-50 year of October”.
1968-In Poland the Exhibition of “Works by Moscow’s Artists-Veterans VOV”. The paintings were: “Vacation House of Kardovsky”, “From the Window of the Workshop”
1970-Lopatkin received an honorary prize for being a part of Exhibition Dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Victory of Nazi Germany.
1970-Lopatkin received an honorary prize for the Exhibition Dedicated to 100 Years Since Lenin Birth date.
1977-the Exhibition of Selling Art from the Soviet Union. Paintings included: “Still-life on the gray background”.
Bombay, India “The International Charity Fund” Paintings included: “Still-life with Beer” (1984), “Still-life with flowers, fruits and vine” (1990), and “Still-life on the pink background” (1990).
05/01/1995-The Exhibition of Art by Moscow Artists-Veterans VOV, Dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of Victory.
Gratitude of Moscow’s Organization “World Defense” to Lopatkin for donating his works of Art.
The works of the Artist, A.A. Lopatkin are now in private collections in Italy, England, Germany and the United States.
Lopatkin, A.A. is listed in theDictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Artists 1900-1980 by the Britain Scholar Matthew Cullerne Bown.
