Subject: Actually , I think it rocks
They pay the artist for their ideas and creativity, Then the artist doesn't have to sell, photograph, make catalogs, have reps, distribute, make, box, ship, all that takes time and money so basically that is what is cut out, it also cuts out on the amount that trickles down to them, That is where a patent trademark lawyer comes in handy. You let them review the contract and have your back so to say. If the company is reputable then chances are it will be a good contract.
Everyone has to start somewhere..........Say someone gets a low percentage of say 2% some may go EGAD !
But if you add up any key accounts and amounts sold with little or no effort on your part then 2% could lead to $100,000 a year in royalties. So you can still keep your day job and earn some bucks on the side.
