I've been following the posts in the art and poetry section for a while and this is my first posting of my work.
“Faith Inflamed”
I crane my head backwards
proclaiming my pain
with my faith emblazoned
Raping my thoughts
of chapters and verse
with a hand held high in the air
confessing a wish turned God-ward.
Gazing upon a window to heaven
with but an upward glance of an eye
when none but God is near,
I climb the ladder reaching
for thoughts mounted above my sight
as I grasp for purpose and feel for faith
balancing on a single toe
while denying the gravity of proof.
