To Mikhail Onanov,

My name is Laura Jones and I live in Moline, Illinois, which is part of the area known as the Quad Cities on the Mississippi River. Evidently Paul N. Norton grew up in Davenport, Iowa which is just across the Mississippi River from Moline.

Paul N. Norton (1909 - 1984) is buried in the Oakdale Memorial Park in Davenport. His biography for that burial site reads: "Nationally known for his watercolor paintings which hang in the U.S. Capitol building, the White House and the Iowa Governor's Mansion." In my explorations on the Internet, I also found out that Paul Norton did a watercolor of the Logan County Courthouse, which hangs in that court house in Lincoln, Illinois.

Yesterday, a relative of mine, who was clearing out some old belongings showed me an original watercolor by Paul N. Norton, painted in 1975. The subject of this watercolor is a chapel--I don't know about the location. I'll have to find out when I see the watercolor again.

The only reference to the sale of one of Paul N. Norton's watercolors I could find on the Internet was from the Catalogue of Art at the Reference Center for Marxist Studies. They have a Paul N. Norton watercolor, 15 X 20, entitled "Seaport Street, Mystic Connecticut" which they are offering for $150.

In what part of the country do you live? It looks like Paul Norton got around because I found a post card he had done of the fishing pier in Naples, Florida, in 1965.

I, too, am interested in selling this watercolor but I am not an artist and have no idea of its value.
