Yes you say is true mostly. I can perhaps shed light onto your little mystery.
Many fine homes including europe have had the opportunity to display Peter Dillons
artwork. As far as I know--this from a unnamed dealer, wink--Dillon went to the Coast Guard Academy before leaving to pursue his passion literature and art.
Most known works hang in his froiends and family homes as he is very opposed to publicity and most sales are underground or commissioned.
He is a native Texan and lives in Arlington where he is still in college. Although I have never seen a piece of his work, I am told they are lovely.
As for genius, thee is a fine line between that and insanity tahaha. All sales are through his father-agent
