My Grandmother, that had recently died, owned an etching by Frank Farkas called "Here, Rover" (image of a dog) that is now in my possession. There is a sheet covering the imaging saying:
"An unusually superb Etching of a dog--full of life and fire. You can almost hear the bark, so real is this masterly Etching created by the great hand of Frank Farkas, the foremost Etcher of America. This work of art is outstanding. Its owner may well feel that he has at least one picture which has real value."
So he was an American artist or still is. I can't seem to find anything on him myself. Have you?
