I am from the Quad Cities also, now living in the Philadelphia area. I have two original watercolors that I purchased from Mr. Norton when he participated in a Jaycee function held on the Mississippi River. One is of downtown Moline looking from Rock Island. You can see the elevator tower, Simko electric etc. The other watercolor shows Prospect Park and the outdoor pavillion where musicals were held during the summer long ago and the lagoon. It has been years since I was back in Moline so not even sure any of these places still exist. Both watercolors are signed. I had put them away and just recently discovered them. I do know Mr. Norton was a prolific painter and considered quite good at the time. I think I bought these in the early 1960s. I have not been able to discover if there is any market for these paintings either.
