Firstly, I appologize for assuming that everybody knows what WWF means (World Wildlife Fund) I did not think I was entitled to insert their logo.
My point was about the trade of animal products (another can of worms which could get the South Africans on my back) and especially these of endangered species. My tribute was to the convention, hoping to get rules and regulations tightened
I totally agree with your disgust against hunting and I could also tell many stories about the bloody business. Your example with the deer feeder also shows how "sporty" these people really are.
Luckily I now live in a country where the gun has been replaced by the camera, game-hunting has become illegal and long may it coninue. My garden is visited by bushbuck with horns, which would make a hunter cry with envy. They eat my flowers and lettuce and the warthog dig up my lawn. Some people would probably find this as an excuse for "thinning the herd"
The remaining problem is still the poaching of elephant tusk and rhino horn in the National Parks and Reserves and people wanting to buy these products(if there was no demand there would be no supply) Apart from that there is the local conflict of people and wildlife.
I don't want to have arguments with the hunters, there is no point, but hopefully none of you would support the trade of ivory, rhino horn, not to mention the other issues like whales etc.
