It's kinda funny, I first started taking college classes back in '74 here in south Florida. Finally 4 years ago I started taking classes again determined to finally get a BFA.
What I've noticed is how much more conservative art students have become, and the student population in general. Not only more conservative, but also more closed minded about alternative points of view. Not all of them, but certainly a large percentage of them have taken on the "One True Way". And if you don't toe the "party line" about what's PC in art, then you are declared outcast by not only the students but the faculty as well.
