Very fine work, both sensitive and powerful. I'm fond of "common" topics like the old fellow parked on a bench while his wife shops.
It's awkward to do client work and self-expressive fine art simultaneously. Client work is a stop-start affair. You're always waiting for an approval phase and working for three or four clients simultaneously. I much prefer doing my own art, working straight through for however long it takes on a single theme.
At one point in my commercial career, I finally decided I had to deliberately declare vacation time and time for my own fine art. Otherwise, I would never have an opportunity to produce any.
