Born in Havana, Cuba, 24 year old Sandro Guerra Garcia moved to New York from the Dominican Republic in 2001 to study fine arts at Parsons School of Design in New York on a Charles Bludhorm Scholarship, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Sandro’s masterful contemporary oil on canvas portraits are reminiscent of Rembrandt in mood, application, palette and skill. Each luminous portrait expresses a distinct atmosphere unique to the personality of the sitter; evoking a distinct attitude and emotion. Sandro’s rare vision and craftsmanship is mature and developed beyond his years.
As well as the Charles Bludhorm Scholarship, in 2004 Mr. Guerra Garcia received a Fellowship from the Cuban Artist Fund to participate in the Vermont Studio Center Artist in Residency Program. In 2000, he won second prize in the Kiti International Design Competition in Korea. He has also done Theater Design for 2 productions of the Ballet Clasico de Santiago.
Sandro is represented by JayKay Gallery in Lausanne, Switzerland who discovered his talent while still an undergraduate. Sandro has shown in Miami Beach, New York, the Dominican Republic, Korea and Switzerland, his works are also part of private collections world-wide.
Juliette Pelletier Graduated from Pasons Paris in 1990, and attended the Ecole Nationale Supériure des Beaux-Arts. Juliette has exhibited her work internationally for over 10 years as well as having curated individual and group shows in Europe and North America.
