Can anyone help i have purchased a etching of Shakespeare memorial by
e shailand. I would like to know is the artist male /female from what region or country and what period was the artist working. The etching is an original print pressed clearly on to old parchement looking paper.
It is signed in pencil in the bottom right by the artist with the subject
"shakespear Memorial" to the left.
It is a coloured tinted drypoint etching.
I can only find little information on the web but 2 referances to auctions having sold work by the artist recently.
I hope someone can add a little further light on this subject.
