Biography - Coming from a family of artists, musicians and glass blowers, Shane M Fredericks started creating art as a child. Shane has been working as an artist since the 1980's. Shane has always been intrigued by expressionism styles of art and has pursued this creative path incorporating animation and geometric styles as well. Shane's art is expressed as a fusion of textures and colors. Shane works with various mediums including crystals, minerals, gold leaf, art glass, sand, stones, fossils, inks, dyes, and acrylics on canvas. Shane's style is unique in that all mediums are randomly broken, then placed on the canvas. Intrigued by things that are random and chaotic in nature Shane aims to combine these elements into a cohesive understanding on canvas. Shane likes themes that are diverse yet simple.Artist Statement - "I enjoy creating art; it is therapeutic and relaxing for me. As an extension of my creativity, consciousness and feelings, art allows me to be expressing without reasoned thoughts in a coherent kind of way. My art is created through the application of various mediums, in a manner that is random and spontaneous. I feel that there are no rules in how I express myself in the art I produce. Each piece is unique and I feel a personal affinity to the results that are produced. My intention is not to anticipate the final result of a piece; I try and allow the result to show itself to me.
