Press Coverage / Reviews: Here is something that catches your attention. . . 12/2/02 8:55 AM Although not anything new, Taylor's images are an assault on your senses that draw you into the stark, raw, minimal imagery like a magnet draws metal filings. One can't help but stare at the simplicity and effectiveness of his images. The bronze pieces are nothing short of splendid. This is the kind of work that should easily find an audience with the art buying public, considering the affordable prices of his pieces. Bill Mack, move over! One observation, James, you should try a larger scale. Artist Statement: "I believe art is a subconscious expression of self. Art is the vehicle for bringing the subconscious to a conscious parallel. From the beginning of time, people have questioned the reason and purpose of their existence. The role of the artist is to explore this idealism; to permanently document the experience of our existence. Following my instincts in search of that documentation of my own existence, my work celebrates the human form in a classic style. I enjoy using stoneware clay as my initial medium because it gives me the ease and freedom I need to create the final expression. I alaso enjoy the freedom of being self taught in sculpture. As a clay artist for over 20 years, I purposely delayed my move from pottery to sculpture until I felt ready artistically. Over the last two years I have created over thirty free-standing and relief sculptures. My wish is to share this work; to let people experience and enjoy the beauty and delicacy of the human form in sculpture."Taylor Bronze Profile: James Taylor6498 Tepper park way NESalem, OR 97303USATel:503 304 8885Fax: N/A email: info@taylorbronze.comhttp://www.taylorbronze.com Prices do not include shipping: Accepted Payment Methods: Visa / Mastercard: Yes Cheque / Money Order: Yes Cash: Yes in person Not Accepted Payment Methods:Paypal: Not AcceptedAmerican Express: Not AcceptedBank Transfer: Not AcceptedExhibitions: Darcie's Draperies and Distinctive Home Furnishings (Current Showing) Eugene Clay Fest - OR.(Annual) Sisters Arts and Crafts Festival - OR.(Annual) Portland Saturday Market - OR.(Ongoing) In Her Image Galley - Portland OR.
