This painting is a part of a series called "Ordinary Saints." In this series, I seek to show the beauty of regular life and everyday people. In our day of celebrity, we can forget how special and unique we all are.

She taught art in public school for ten years and was a teaching assistant and an instructor in art education at the University of Georgia from 1996-2000. In 2000, Mercer University Press published her book related to her research on the visionary folk artist J.B. Murray, and her book, In the Hand of the Holy Spirit: The Visionary Art of J.B. Murray, won an award from the Georgia Author of the Year in the area of Biography that same year. She then wrote the musical Hands of the Spirit in 2001, based on her book, which has had two performance runs (2004 and 2007) and a third performance run possibly in Savannah, GA in the near future. In her art she strives to depict a joyous, complex world of the spirit that exists beyond our conscience awareness.
