This is an actual bronze landscape. I wanted to try to capture landscape images in bronze, with a combination of drawing, texture and form. This piece was dirived from a drawing of the fences through the morning mist up in the Ya Ha Tinda. Ten riders went up to the mountains and rode for 7 days. I sat down at fence level and saw and amazing combination of crosses that were naturally formed by the fenceline. As I studied them, it became apparent of the need for these crosses to be protrayed in two dimensions. This is an interesting realm for bronze, made 1/1 by the artist.
I was interested in creating art at a very young age. It started with a jewellery course at the Leighton Centre in Alberta. From there was many weekend studies in Metalsmithing. I studied Metalsmithing at the Alberta College of Art, later studing sculpture. I have also completed two years study in Sculpture at the Red Deer College. I am also the founder of ArtLink Inc. a company who specialized in large scale commissioned works of art for public places for over 20 years.I have a great interest in sculputre, metalsmithing, design, uniqueness and especially originallity. I create one of a kind pieces in both sculpture and jewellery design.
