This image suggests what an installation of multiple framed drawings might look like. These drawings display well singularly, in pairs, groupings of four, nine as illustrated, 12 or more. Such a grouping creates a bold contemporary statement whether on a large residential wall, professional office, public lobby, or other corporate installation.
Much of my work might be characterized by pattern, repetition and layering of pencil or brush strokes, color and object abstractions on paper or canvas. At the root of my work is an exploration of the quality of the line, mark and stroke of the pencil or brush. I think of my work as a spiritual practice. I strive to create a brush stroke that is "alive" in much the same way the Zen calligrapher creates a line that is "alive" by focusing the mind.
