The Black Water Pool, inspired by the process of human submission to the natural elements as we seek relaxation, medicinal treatment, and generally stretching our personal limits to enjoy a moment.

I enjoy looking through my the lens of my camera to capture the initial framework that eventually becomes a fine art print. I work in Lucia ink on fine art paper, creating original pieces within my computer. I believe Im more creative than technology, relying more on organic methods while allowing technology to enhance my process in generating limited edition prints generally, not more than 10 in an edition.I deconstruct the familiar vocabulary of photography to incorporate an idea that defines and expands a print that has recognizable photo structure yet removes the tropes that permit us to speak about the image as a photo. Rather, the print allows us to speak about the image as it is. Photography provides the foundation that not only inspires my imagination but also offers the element of surprise in discovering the range of possibilities for an image that extends beyond recording the outside world. It is a catalyst for self-expression to reflect my emotions, growth in self-discovery, and my perspective of the world I live in.After receiving formal training in the public schools of Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, I studied black and white photography at the Corcoran School of Art and Design, and subsequently pursued a B.S. in Technology and Management from the University of Maryland. I am a member in good standing with Maryland Federation of Art, the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and reside in Rockville, Maryland.
