Terry Redlin, who grew up hunting and fishing, continues to paint the wildlife
he learned to appreciate years ago. The relationship between man and wildlife is
one of modern civilizations continuing dilemmas. But the contestants are
capable of living in harmony. All of conservationists efforts are work-ing in my
new painting. The blue heron fishing is a symbol of good ecology. The scene in
Guardian of Conservation is just before sunset in the Fall of the year. We can
see the waterwheel at the old grist mill is still working although now the
rustic building is most often used as a banquet and meeting hall.



The elusive blue heron keeps a keen eye on the fish at the waters edge and
observes all his surroundings at the same time. Above him geese divert the
attention of three Labradorsa chocolate, a yellow and a blackand an Irish
setter. As the dogs turn hack to watch the heron, hes gone! And will return
later to this sheltered fishing spot.
