The first in the "Niagara's Vineyards" series to be released.
The Niagara region is rich in the history of wine and romance. As they mate for life, the cardinals were selected to emphasize the theme of romance. The original was, after all, painted as my sister's wedding gift. The vineyard was the natural choice of backdrop as the grapevine setting lends a distinctly "Niagara" feel to the painting. Grapes indeed are the true focus of this painting as the fall season's bounty of colours and harvest almost hide the cardinals' bright splendor. Image size: 21" x 10"/Print size: 26" x 13"

It's not uncommon to see Carman walking through various vineyards with sketchbook and camera in hand. Unlike most painters, Carman's paintings are as likely to be found hanging in the galleries and shops of Niagara's finest wineries as they are to be found in traditional art galleries. The Niagara region (Niagara-on-the-lake and Niagara Falls in particular) have a rich history of wine and romance. It is only fitting that the artwork of the region should reflect the mood and detail of this rich tradition in a lush blend of acrylics and watercolours. Born and raised in Niagara, this self-taught artist has been painting all of his life. What started as a childhood passion has grown into success painting for the corporate world. Corporate commissions might seem a natural choice for this M.B.A. graduate, yet his blend of colour, style, artistry and eye for detail are equally at home in executive boardrooms, galleries or private collections. Wildlife and nature, especially the natural beauty of the Niagara area, are at the heart of his subject matter. His paintings are in watercolour, acrylic or mixed media blend of both.
