Web Address: http:/home.earthlink.net/~essexgarnerMy painting styles are categorized within the realm of Realism, Traditionalism, Constructivist, and the Abstract. Thematic developments are usually influenced through music; especially (Jazz and Gospel), children in the genre, religious metaphoric reminders, and historical pictorials. Influenced by Henry O. Tanner, Thomas Hart Benton, Jackson Pollock, and Dean Mitchell. Im influenced more in how they approached life versus their art, in Deans case its definitely his art. I primarily work in oils, but enjoy working in watercolor as time permits. I dont paint to another artists style, or mimic the articulations of others. I think that's the unhealthiest approach for any artists to take, in my opinion. I dont ever want to find myself painting at the end of some else dreams; I paint at the beginning of mine.
