Temple Dogs: Lhasa Apso dogs. The guardians of the Tibetan temples. The statues have fierce, grotesque faces and claws. I have dozens of them; big ,small, wooden, resin, concrete...I'm surrounded by them. This painting is my feeling of being totally surrounded and protected by this dog energy.
This painting also reminds me of the scene in the movie Brazil where the woman is at the doctor's office and they are peeling her skin from her face and stretching it out around her like a circle.
