Louisa Matturro Boshardy studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts with Mr. Louis Grell and Ms. Ruth Van Sickle Ford for six years from 1956 to 1962. She also studied at the American Academy of Fine Art with Mr. William Mosby from 1960 to 1961. Ms. Boshardy was one of the first women to be admitted to the Palette and Chisel Academy of Art and in 1992 was elected an honorary member. Ms. Boshardy has participated in numerous exhibits throughout the United States and has won over 34 awards. Some of her awards were received at the following events:- New Mexico Small Painting Exhibit in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1989, 1990 and 1993- Illinois State Fair- Oil Painters of America- Knickerbocker Artists 40th National Exhibit, New York- Cooperstown 55th Annual Exhibit, New York- 63rd and 64th National Invitational Art Salon- Springville Museum, Springville Utah- 63rd American Artist Professional Art League Exhibit, New York- The Irving Shapiro Second Annual National Watercolor Competition, 1997 - "Visions" 1999, Chicago, IllinoisShe was selected for the top 200 Paintings in the Arts for the Parks in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Ms. Boshardy is represented in galleries in the Midwest. Her collections are at the Anderson Fine Arts Foundation, Alford House-Anderson Fine Arts Center, Oak Park Arts Council and the Bank of Ravenswood.
