Lelia was raised on Cape Cod MA. Growing up, she always had an interest in drawing. As a teenager, Lelia worked in an art gallery where she was exposed to a diverse range of works witch inspired her. In 1980, she moved to Kauai, HI where she lived for 18 years. Her proffessional artistic career began in 1987 with the encouragement of her family. The first month exhibiting, she sold 5 paintings and was commissioned to paint 20 more. This was a dream come true for Lelia. To be able to work at what she loved and also to stay home with her young son. Since that time, Lelia has sold over 600 original works to corporate and private collectors from all over the world. She is self taught and looks at her work as an adventure. She has a pragmatic approach yet her techniques are un conventional. She is known as a colorist and using her instincts for balance and tone. The medium she chooses to work with only depends upon her mood.Lelia has had over 11 solo shows and participated in numerous museum and group exhibitions in the Islands. Her works have been commissioned by several of Hawaiis luxury resorts.She now resides in Colorado with her family.Her original works can now be seen at The Palm Avenue Gallery in Sarasota, FL. 45 S.
