I have made the assertion that artiste should strive to be part scientist and part philosopher. I have gotten e-mails telling me that art is not truth, but this is not the point; the point I try to make is that there is truth in art. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words and a visual artist has the ability to express concepts in ways that go beyond words. Much of my art is the salt in the alchemy of art. That is to say I experiment and explore, I boil down and heat, I am seeking the essence of that thing that we recognize but cannot verbalize in art.
