A striking work! I love the monochromatic palette, and the contrast of crisp lines in the central foreground with the wispy watery marks at right. Neat mix of realism and abstraction in the mane.

This work captures the way that autumn leaves so often look as if they will burst into flame, they're so intensely bright. Great brushwork and as always, a lovely composition.

Nicely done portrait. Technically well done, and the plaintive look of the subject is not lost among the rendering of the features. I like the close-up composition and emphasis on the face with little background.
