Barbara, Thank you for a beautiful picture of “real” artistic ability. Your art does not need to seek sanctuary behind a terminology. The chosen paint, brushwork, the support and not least your ability has class. It is a shame that tergiversate art dealers who have a monopoly on art, festoon galleries with utter garbage and tell people what they should buy. I recently visited an exhibition and was eager to see paintings by a deified artist of Godly standing who was enjoying the apotheosis bestowed upon him by formidable art dealers. Awe inspired wine drinkers drooled over the paintings with their chins sweeping the ground. I left after seeing garbage of infantile proportions. It was clear to me that the artist produced about 50 paintings a week. Hundreds of his paintings of this year were on display. If dealers promoted him to a false God of art, they would make a killing in profits. It was reminiscent of Picasso, Van Gough etc’s deifications….Regards, Arnoldo.
