I like religious art because it is so close, intimate, usually subtle and pleasant to look at. The proportions are off on this piece... but It doesn't bother me one bit. The fact that it is painted on wood that is worn and natural is something that speaks to the grassroots level at which spirituality is to all who are religious. Nice piece.
