I must say that I disliked this piece intensely. The colors are jarring and the shapes are disturbing. The edges look like they are unfinished. I find that the colors clash violently and I feel somewhat uncomfortable when looking at this painting. When I think of a nebula, I think of images like the ones from the Hubble Telescope, softly colored and have a dreamlike quality about them. This image is just a blast of color and miscellaneous shapes. Although I am a fan of abstract art, I am not a fan of this particular piece. There is one area that does intrigue me, however. For some reason, I quite like the area in the center of the nebula, the shapes there are attractive to me.
thank you -the center is the atomic explosion and the outer limits are rough and ill defined as a true explosion would be -nothing is finished at the moment of the original nebula. the colors are my felling as what would/ could be -again i try not to emulate Hubble -but try to depict the concept of the event -happy space walking
