Artist: Bob Dornberg

Dornberg was born in California in 1940. He and his twin brother have painted since an early age. He studied painting at the University of California in Los Angeles.
Since 1995 he has produced over 1000 oil paintings, of various styles and subjects. His Slices of Life Series depicts subjects from his lifetime surroundings.
Dornberg has created approximately 25 sculptures with cast resin and arc welded steel. He is a natural constructionist with visionary skills of balance and unique relations.
He believes that an artist must study the ELEMENTS that make a work great. The ELEMENTS include: relationships of objects, shapes, lines, spaces and colors. Also key are: rhythm, which is established by repetition; balance which is accomplished by all parts being essential and complimentary. Study of these elements occurs whenever an artist reviews anyone’s work, including his own. One must learn from review and still remain free to explore.
While subject matter is important, focus must remain on the ELEMENTS above, and subject matter must remain subservient.
