Artist: Mary Ann Henry

Mary Ann Henry
Fine Art Oil Painter
“Art fulfills me, emotionally and spiritually.
Painting centers my soul.
I have an inner passion, a need, to express my creativity.”
Mary Ann’s love for art began as a child. Encouraged by an elderly artist – a childhood neighbor – she completed her first painting at about the age of 7. Her first painting was a single ballerina. Years later, she was introduced to Degas and fell in love immediately. “I felt an immediate connection. I feel Degas expresses true emotion through color, light, and movement. His work is my biggest source of inspiration.”
Mary Ann is a working artist, showing at various art venues. You will see her work throughout the southeast at galleries, festivals, and competitions. She is a successful portrait artist doing commission work regularly. Mary Ann resides in Georgia, downtown in Cartersville’s historic district with her two children, Leslie and Kyle, and her dog Sugarbear.
