Theme For 1999: THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOONWALK, SUPERHERO STYLE

For the past two years in San Francisco, the 24-Hour Community Spacewalk
has gathered more than 300 artists, musicians, and street performers over a
24 hour
period on the streets, drawing together communities of merchants, tourists,
residents, homeless and artists. Now it's coming to Los Angeles.

Past events include: The 3am Tip-Toe Parade (guaranteed for '99), The
Silent Radio Wave Rave, the 24-hour Soap Opera, Photo Galleries, 24 hour
murals, Limestone Sculpting on the street, a non-motorized vehicle parade,
the Paparazzi Posse (guaranteed for '99), performances on subways, piling
rocks ( a zen piece), a 40 foot bed with 40 sheets and 40 foot blankets as
a 4am crash pad, the Stone Soup Reception (to feed the homeless when we are
finished), and more!

Plans for this year include simulcasts across the U.S., and potentially
six to eight other cities worldwide, ranging from Amsterdam to Auckland.

Every artist, individual, and collaborative group can create their own
event within the Spacewalk.

To sign up on the official mailing list send an email to:
listserv@spacewalk.org and in the body of the message write "subscribe
spacewalk." You will receive meeting information and the latest info to keep up with this amazing event!
