I'd rather have bowling trophies than an art degree. I have many from years of bowling.
Having said that, I could live without bowling but not with out creating art.
Cookiebee, I feel your pain and have accepted my life as you've accepted yours.
I took art in college, one semester, and haven't been back. But I learned a lot in that short time and it shows in every picture I create.
I never cared for the degree itself. I only wanted to learn more than I already knew. And that I accomplished.
Take what you've learned and be thankful for the gift of knowledge you've gained from your time in school.
